Sagarmatha National Park is home of the highest peak Mount Everest in the world .It is 8,848 meters.The Sagarmatha National Park was established in 1976. In 1979, it became the country’s first national park that was inscribed as a Natural world heritage site . In January 2002,   Sagarmatha National Park  covers an area of 1148 square kilometers  in the Solu-Khumbu district and northern part of Nepal.

Sagarmatha is full of rugged terrain with deep gorges, glaciers and huge rocks. The Park boasts of a variety of wildlife and over 118 species of bird. While the forest is dominated by silver fir, birch, rhododendron and juniper trees, animals such as musk deer, the Himalayan tahr, the ghoral, the serow, the wolf, and the Himalayan black bear may be spotted by trekkers in this region.Furthermore,there are 193 different species of birds in the park such as red-billed, snow cook, snow pigeon and danphe the Nepali national birds.

The Name of Sagarmatha is Nepali language ,it is drived from Sagar means sky and Matha means Head ,so its meaniing “Head of the sky”. There National park most of the flora is colorful during the monsoon season from June to August months

The best time to visit the park is during the autumn months of October-November and from March-May in summer.
