Rapti River is one of the most popular River in Nepal.West Rapti drains Rapti Zone in Mid-western Region, Nepal. The Rapti’s flow has great seasonal variation because the river lacks sources in high elevation glaciers and snowfields to buffer pre-monsoon drought. On the other hand, This ritual takes place in the Rapti River, which separates Sauraha from Chitwan National Park, home to the endangered one-horned rhino. After a busy morning carrying tourists around the park and the nearby Community Forest reserves, a procession of dusty pachyderms are led by their mahouts to the river for a good scrub down.

Furthermore, the West Rapti River is one of the dynamic and economically important basins of Nepal. The West Rapti River basin is one of the most flood prone river basins in Nepal. The real-time flood early warning system together with the development of water management and flood protection schemes play a crucial role in reducing the loss of lives and properties and in overall development of the basin.
