Gyachung Kang is a mountain in the Mahalangur Himal. the fifteenth highest peak in the world. Gyachung Kang is situated in the Khumbu region. It is Gyachung Kang is a high mountain of the Khumbu region. It is the highest peak between Mount Everest and Cho Oyu.

Moreover, Nepal is known as land of Himalayas world over. There are 1,310 peaks above 6000 meters of which 238 are already opened for climbing .The heavily glaciated peak of Gyachung Kang is quite beautiful and the mountain resembles a velvety baldachin that looks like it is covering secrets underneath.

On the north side, a Buddhist monastery stands at the foot of the Rongbuk Glacier, beneath Everest?s spectacular north face. The monastery is one of two whose locations were selected specifically to allow religious contemplation of the great peak. The mountain was first climbed on April 10, 1964 by Y. Kato, K. Sakaizawa and Pasang Phutar and on the next day by K. Machida and K. Yasuhisa
